New iPhone User. I’ve succumbed.
After more than 1 year of E61 bliss, I’ve finally retired my trusty phone. I was getting seriously concerned that the joystick/thumbstick is getting loose and might die on me pretty soon. So I just shut my eyes and jumped.
I was never really a big fan of apple products. I was pretty late getting into the iPod bandwagon (my first HDD based music player was an iRiver ihp120), but I couldn’t resist anymore. The huge sexy widescreen touchscreen display was just too much to be ignored. So with a heavy heart, I went to Greenhills (our electronics hub in the Philippines) and sold my E61. I’ve also been disposing of my old iPods — the orange shuffle and the first gen Nano whitey.
As of this writing, I am happily synching 6 gigs worth of music to the iPhone. I’m also converting some of my dvds to test drive the iPhone’s movie capabilities. First ones on the list are 300, Evil Dead and Hot Fuzz.
So I guess my blog is out of retirement. I will be posting some info on how I managed to upgrade my 1.02 firmware and jailbreak it to allow usage of my globe sim card.
