Uh-Oh . . .
I’m getting really worried about the E61. I posted a month ago about my phone vibrating for no apparent reason and that I had to shut off the phone to get rid of the vibration. I’ve been experiencing that every so often, I’ve had my 5th phone shutdown because of that seemingly harmless problem.
A friend of mine who bought the phone a couple of days ahead of me had to have his E61 serviced by Nokia. The joystick went bonkers and he isn’t even a heavy user of the phone. Now I’m really worried since I spend, on average, two hours fiddling with the joystick while playing S-tris, Super Miners and Sky Force.

The problems you are facing have never even hinted of their presense on my E61…
I hope you will be able to fix em and enjoy your E61 without any worries.
Good luck!

I recoginize the buzzing from other articles I have read and all have had problems with the battery. You don’t use pirate-battery or something?
no i used the battery from the original nokia e61 package, which was purchased from a nokia store. so i have no doubt with the authenticity of the battery.
I have similar problem , it vibrated two times for the past 2 weeks, then there were several times it reboot by it own or automatically shuts down. a few days ago, experienced my very first crashed with it. It would flash a message to bring to nokia retailer or something like that, then I browse the net and read some other experienced the same thing, what they did was press 3, * and green buttom to reset which i followed and it totally erase all the data.
Hope there will a solution soon
I’ve had the mysterious buzz myself, if you don’t catch it, it runs the battery down quickly. I can’t for the life of me figure out what triggers it. At least it’s nice to know other people are having the problem.
mine is still okay, just that it has hung twice on me so far and auto rebooted once. 2 applications will not work if i install it on the memory card instead of phone: dictionary (simonjudge) and Calcium. DivX sometimes has problems but okay if i reinstall. Other apps are fine. I’m getting a little paranoid so i’m backing up a little more often now, especially after there was once when suddenly i discovered all my apps moved back to the ‘installation’ folder when i have been moving them into various folders.
mine hasn’t hung yet. all the apps work properly, calcium works on the mini-sd.
Same here, used mine for a few months, today the joystick seems to be stuck in UP move as soon as I touch it in some menu - it just scrolls at high speed through any menu, any sms listting or application listings. How very sucky… and Nokia is too stupid to put a firmware upgrade file on their server without a Windows .exe software…. Bugger. Syncs great with Mac OS X and all, but they are incompetent to deliver a user installable firmware to Mac & Linux users… all we need is the damn file to put it on a memory card… any ideas?
