New Proggies for the E61

I’ve heard some users have issues with the built in Calendar software in the E61. Honestly, I don’t use the calendar function all that much. I’ve purchased Palms and Ipaqs before only to sell them a week after.

There are two new applications that will be released pretty soon. AquaCalendar and Papyrus. I was able to obtain a beta version copy of Papyrus and I’m liking it. One thing that I like with Papyrus is that every calendar entry made is also reflected on the E61 calendar software, so it will still show up on the standby screen. As far as I know, the Papyrus beta version isn’t available to the public.

The beta version of AquaCalendar can be obtained here. I haven’t tried it, but from what I’ve read, it looks like a solid alternative.

There is also a customized version of Calcium specifically for E61/E62 users. The new version is for those users with the upgraded firmware to do away with the annoying blue function key combo to key in numbers.

Hi tried the beta of Papyrus also. It is very nice but it is an old beta (7/27/06) so it is still full of bugs. One realy anoying bug is that when you edit an existing appointment, it will erase the note field if it was already there. :( I lost some important info that way before I noticed this…..

[…] But now there has been lots of fuss about Papyrus and AquaCalendar, Calendar apps for S60 3rd Edition phones. (Similar to Calcium which is a better calculator). They have been in beta for some time already and now finally AquaCalendar has released a stable version! Papyrus is coming soon as well! If you want a side-by-side review see Techmundo. […]

Hi, do you know of stores in the Philippines where one can actually buy Symbian software? Or is symbian software strictly sold online?
